What Are Digital X-Ray?
Modern dentists have access to all sorts of innovative tools and technology, including Digital X-Ray, a treatment method allowing more detailed and precise examination of a patient’s teeth and gums. Dentists have used traditional x-rays for decades, but these only show teeth and can be inconsistent and also have created concerns about radiation exposure. We’re proud to offer advanced Digital X-Rays technology in our office, which helps us maintain a focus on providing your children with safe and convenient treatment methods, using most advanced dental technology possible.
Are Digital X-Rays Safe
While traditional x-rays only produce small amounts of radiation each time the patient is examined, the effects can be cumulative over time. Because we care about your child’s health and well-being and want them as our patients for years, it’s important that we do everything we can to reduce their exposure to radiation. We’ve concluded that using Digital X-Ray can offer the best advantages to our patients, and reduce exposure by up to 80 percent! Digital X-Rays can also benefit our staff who provides these exams all day.
What Are The Advantages Of Digital X-Rays
Beyond safety and convenience, there are plenty of other reasons that we like Digital X-Rays. We get the images right away rather than waiting for them to be processed. Images are always sharp, precise and easy to enlarge, and we never have to worry about them being over- or under-exposed. There are no chemicals required to process images or plastic pieces for patients to bite. But the greatest advantage of Digital X-Rays is that they let the patient see their own teeth on a screen, making it easier to point out why care is so important. Our practice is focused on making your child's dental experience as comfortable as possible. We'll also be happy to answer any questions you may have at future appointments.
